Rugby League legend Rob Burrow passed away tragically on June 2, 2023, at the age of 41. Burrow, a popular player for the Leeds Rhinos and the England national team, had been courageously fighting motor neurone disease (MND) since he was diagnosed in 2019. Even though he had difficulties, Burrow continued to be a source of hope, motivating many people with his strong spirit and determination.
Hundreds of people came together to show their respect and admiration for Rob Burrow in a heartfelt gathering to say their final goodbyes. The gathering after the funeral took place at Leeds Civic Hall. It was attended by Burrow's family, friends, teammates, and important people from the rugby world, such as Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Tanya Curry from the MND Association, and James Lewis, the head of Leeds City Council.
