OMG TACO CUPCAKES

These Taco Cupcakes are a fun, creative twist on traditional tacos that are perfect for parties, game days, or any occasion where you want to serve something unique and delicious. Imagine all the flavors of your favorite taco—seasoned meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream—but baked into individual, handheld "cupcakes" using wonton wrappers as the "shell." They’re bite-sized, easy to make, and absolutely adorable. Let’s get started!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

For the Taco Cupcakes:

  • 24 square wonton wrappers (or round wrappers, if preferred)
  • 1 lb ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend: chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)

For Toppings:

  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sour cream
  • Guacamole or diced avocado
  • Salsa
  • Chopped green onions or cilantro

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat and Prep

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) . Lightly grease a standard muffin tin with cooking spray or oil.

Step 2: Make the Taco Filling

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a spoon. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 3–5 minutes , stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3: Form the Wonton Shells

  1. Press a wonton wrapper gently into each greased muffin tin cavity, shaping it into a cup-like form. The edges can slightly overlap the top of the tin.
  2. Bake the empty wonton cups for 5–7 minutes , until they begin to crisp and turn golden around the edges.
