I haven't quite tasted a cookie like this one! So good!

1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter - 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of sugar, finely ground
1 and a third cups of packed light brown sugar
A single big egg
—One lemon's zest
1-Turnip of freshly squeezed lemon juice
-- half a teaspoon of vanilla essence
1/4 cup of traditional rolled oats
What to do:
1. Get your oven ready by turning it on to 350 degrees F. If you want perfectly crisp cookies every time, line baking pans with parchment paper.
2. Combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt) in a medium bowl; they will serve as the good soil on which your cookies will be baked.
3. Put the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar into the bowl of your stand mixer and beat until the mixture is as airy as a morning cloud. Incorporate the egg and mix until smooth.
Fourth, combine the lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract; then, as if a gust of citrus wind were blowing through the kitchen, observe the scent of citrus blossoming.
5. Without overworking the dough, gradually incorporate the dry ingredients that were left aside earlier until just mixed.
6. Add the rolled oats, folding gently. Sticky as a handshake, the dough will be full of flavor and texture.
8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the rims are golden brown but the cores are still soft, or until spoonfuls of dough are dropped onto the prepared baking sheets, allowing space for the cookies to spread their wings while baking. After a minute of resting on the baking sheet, move them to a wire rack to cool. Stay calm, my love.
Tips and Variations: - Along with the oats, stir in half a cup of chopped walnuts or pecans for a nuttier touch.
- A Adding a handful of raisins or dried cranberries to the dough can make the ensemble more complete if you like them.
- A Put these adorable little things in an airtight container and they will stay fresh for three or four days, assuming they make it that far!
- A Feel free to personalize this beloved recipe as you like; for example, you may make it more seasonally appropriate by adding a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon.

Take a minute to savor these cookies, to soak in the memories and make new ones; each mouthful is like a small piece of history, of the delicate art of Midwestern hospitality.
