How to Plant Avocados at Home for Dozens

Avocados are not just a delicious addition to your diet but are also rich in nutrients, making them an excellent choice for health-conscious individuals. Imagine the joy and satisfaction of picking fresh avocados right from your garden. Here’s how you can turn this dream into reality by growing avocado trees at your home, ensuring a bountiful harvest for years to come.

Step 1: Starting with the Seed
Seed Extraction: Carefully remove the seed from an avocado fruit and clean it without removing the brown skin.
Preparation: Insert four toothpicks around the seed at equal distances. Use these toothpicks to suspend the seed over a glass of water, ensuring the bottom half is submerged by about an inch (3 centimeters).
Step 2: Germination
Location: Place the glass in a spot that receives ample sunlight and remains warm.
Monitoring Growth: It will take between 2 to 8 weeks for the root to emerge. Once the root reaches about 6 inches (15cm), trim it to approximately 3 inches (8cm) to encourage more robust growth. Leaves will begin to sprout shortly after.
