Here's how to make a mosquito trap that works perfectly.

Mosquitoes can be a real nuisance, especially during summer. Their incessant buzzing and biting can disrupt peaceful evenings and sleep. Fortunately, there are safe and effective ways to capture them using everyday household items. Here's a guide on how to create a simple and efficient mosquito trap, along with additional tips for repelling these pesky insects naturally.

Homemade Mosquito Trap Using a Plastic Bottle:

Materials Needed:

1 plastic bottle
300 ml water
4 tablespoons sugar
1 gram baker's yeast
Tape
Instructions:

Cut the plastic bottle in half, ensuring the bottom part is larger.
Pour sugar into the bottom half of the bottle.
Boil the water, then pour it over the sugar. Let it cool for about 20 minutes.
Add the yeast to this mixture. The yeast will produce carbon dioxide, attracting mosquitoes.
Remove the bottle cap, invert the top half of the bottle, and place it into the bottom half, creating a funnel.
Secure the edges with tape.
Place the trap in mosquito-infested areas. Mosquitoes will enter the trap but won’t be able to escape.
Additional Tips for Mosquito Repulsion:

Essential Oils as Repellents:
Lemon eucalyptus oil is an effective mosquito repellent. Soak a cloth with 15 drops of the oil and place it in mosquito-prone areas.
Mix four drops of lemon thyme oil or basil essential oil with a teaspoon of olive oil
for a simple homemade repellent.
