So when a story began circulating about a woman who reportedly ate eggs at every meal for five months, people naturally wanted to know what happened when she finally had her routine blood work checked.
The story claims that instead of seeing her cholesterol rise, her results had actually improved.
That's certainly an attention-grabbing ending.
But there's an important question hiding underneath the headline: What does science actually tell us about eating eggs every day—and can one person's blood test really settle the debate?
The answer is more interesting than a simple "eggs are good" or "eggs are bad."
The Five-Month Egg Experiment
According to the story, the woman began eating eggs because they were convenient, affordable, filling, and an easy source of protein.
Breakfast might have been scrambled eggs or an omelet.
Lunch could be egg salad or a frittata.
Dinner might have included quiche, shakshuka, or another egg-based meal.
In other words, eggs weren't simply appearing on her breakfast plate. They were part of every meal, every day, for roughly five months.
That's approximately 15 eggs per week if she ate one at each meal.

Did Her Cholesterol Really Improve?
