New Year’s Soup


Sugar — about 1 tablespoon (or less, according to personal preference) to counteract the acridity of the greens.
Half a cup of water; add more or less as required during cooking.
Toss in the salt and pepper right before serving, seasoning to taste.
Add a little heat if you want, but it's not required.
How to Follow
Get Everything Ready
Hold the black-eyed peas in water for at least an hour.
After washing and removing any excess stems or leaves, roughly cut the collard greens.
Sausage should be browned in a pan before slicing.

Pull Together the Soup
Put the soaked peas, collard greens, cooked sausage, chicken stock, minced garlic, Rotel tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, and tomato paste into a big crockpot.
Add 1/2 cup of water and sugar according your taste. After it has cooked down a little, you may add more water if necessary.
Crock-Pot Ezoic
Let the soup simmer in a crockpot on low heat for at least 10 hours, or all night long. The flavorful ingredients are expertly combined by the lengthy cooking process.
Evaluate and Modify
