A lot of people all across the world adore baked potatoes because they are versatile and delicious. With their crunchy outside and fluffy inside, they make for a delicious main course or side dish. This simple recipe transforms boring potatoes into delectable treats that may be adjusted to suit personal preferences.

Potatoes, preferably russet or another baking-friendly kind

Melted butter or olive oil

Sea salt

Toppings like salsa, sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon pieces, and bacon bits are totally optional.

Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 400°F, or 200°C.

Scrub the potatoes well under running water to remove any dirt.

Use a clean dish towel to pat them dry.

To let steam escape during baking, pierce the potatoes in various spots with a fork.

Season the potatoes with salt and olive oil.

Position them immediately on a baking sheet or rack that has been lined with parchment paper.

For 45 to 60 minutes in the oven, or until a fork poke makes the skin crisp and soft, check the flesh with a toothpick.
Tips for Success: Select potatoes of uniform size to ensure uniform cooking.

To avoid bursting in the oven, be sure to poke holes in the potatoes with a fork.

Applying more oil and salt to the potatoes before baking will result in a harder, crispier exterior.
