Our granddaughter sent us a note with rude words asking for $5000. We chose to teach her a lesson.

When my granddaughter Sarah told us about her wedding plans, my husband Jim and I were very happy. We started talking excitedly about how we could make her important day unique. However, we were surprised when we got a letter from Sarah a few days later, which changed our mood.

The letter included a $5,000 estimate for a trip she desired to take with her partner, along with a hurtful message: "I wish to go on a birthday trip with my partner this year." Make the payment. I hope you have saved enough money over the years from buying inexpensive gifts for me.

This request felt like a strong hit, considering everything we had done for Sarah throughout the years. Even though we don't have a lot of money, we have always done our best to help her as much as possible. We have given her quilts that we made by hand, valuable family jewelry, and also assisted with money for her car and college costs. We believed these presents were important to her.

As we read the letter together, my husband and I felt a strong mix of anger and sadness. "Can you imagine this?" I asked Jim, trying not to cry. “After all the things we did for her?”

Jim was also very disappointed. "He said this is completely incorrect." "We have done a lot for her, and this is how she thanks us?"
