You should whip them up right now.  Another option is this next weekend.  Also, during your next potluck, you will be the envy of the party!

My family has used this recipe for generations.  Plus, there are a plethora of variants and at least a dozen distinct names for it.

What You Need for the Crust:

One egg
Layer of Oleo:

8 ounces of softened cream cheese
beaten eggs, two
powdered sugar, 16 ounces
Ooey Gooey Bar Recipe Instructions
Get the oven hot, about 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Melt the butter and whisk in the cake mix in a medium bowl. Whisk or mix until completely blended.
Spread the dough evenly in a greased 9×13 baking pan by patting and pressing it down. Remove from the heat.
Cream the cream cheese in a different large bowl. After a minute or two of beating, add the eggs and continue until the mixture is smooth. Toss in the powdered sugar and keep beating until well blended.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 30 minutes, or until crust is golden and cooked through. Make sure not to bake it for too long.
Take it out of the oven when it's done and allow it to cool whole before cutting it into bars.
