I had no clue I could transform my favorite takeaway into a dish! That is such a useful method!

Casserole with Ground Beef and Chow Mein

Estimated serving size: 6-8
The ingredients needed are 1 pound of ground beef, 1 medium onion (diced), and 2 minced garlic cloves.
- Grate 1 tablespoon of ginger; cut 1 cup of celery; julienne 1 cup of carrots
- Thinly sliced cabbage, 3 cups - Sliced mushrooms, 8 ounces
8 oz. of cooked Pasta dishes, chow mein noodles, or spaghetti
3/4 cup of soy sauce
Two tablespoons of vegetable oil, one teaspoon of sesame oil, and one tablespoon of oyster sauce (optional).
Beef broth (one cup) and cornstarch (one tablespoon)
Grated cheddar cheese, measuring 1 cup (optional)
To season, add salt and pepper to taste. For garnish, cut some green onions or chives.
What to do
A preheated oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) is the first step. First, grease a baking dish that measures 9 by 13 inches.
2. Set the vegetable oil to medium heat in a big skillet. Brown the ground beef by adding it and splitting it up as it cooks.
3. Add ginger, garlic, and onions to the meat in the pan and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the onions become translucent.
4. Cook the carrots and celery for a few more minutes in the pan until they begin to soften. After that, add the mushrooms and cabbage, and continue cooking until the veggies are crisp-tender.
5. Combine the beef broth, cornstarch, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and a small bowl. Whisk to combine. After the meat and veggies are cooked, pour the sauce over them, swirl to combine, and then boil until the sauce thickens slightly.
6. Carefully incorporate the cooked noodles with the meat and vegetable mixture in the pan, being sure to toss everything thoroughly.
Place the whole mixture in the baking dish that has been preheated. 7. Distribute the grated cheddar cheese equally over the top.
Make sure you bake it for 20-25 minutes in a preheated oven, or until the cheese starts to brown and bubble.

9. Before serving, garnish with chopped chives or green onions.
Tips and Variations
-Use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef for a leaner alternative.
- A Who doesn't like cheddar? To change the flavor profile, try using Monterey Jack or a combination of cheeses.
- A Try something new with your veggies. Some delicious texture variants are bean sprouts, bell peppers, and water chestnuts.
- A To add a burst of flavor and crunch, sprinkle on some crushed red pepper flakes or sesame seeds.
- A If you'd want to make it vegetarian, simply leave out the meat and add more mushrooms or tofu, seasoning to suit.
