SIMPLE TRICK FOR CLEANING OVEN RACKS

Beginning this cleaning method requires a few large trash bags that can accommodate your oven racks, and some ammonia. I purchased my ammonia from CVS, but if you're struggling to find it in stores, Amazon is always an option. Gently place your oven racks inside the trash bags, ensuring you don't puncture them. For added security against any potential leaks, I suggest double-bagging using robust bags.

In an area with good air circulation, like a garage or outdoors, introduce about 1-2 cups of ammonia into the bag. You don’t have to immerse the racks in it; the vapors are what truly work wonders in cleaning them.

Once the ammonia is inside, securely seal the bags. I opted for packing tape to ensure a tight closure. Lay the bags flat and let them rest for a minimum of two hours. While letting them sit longer may ease the scrubbing process, be cautious; there've been cases where the finish on the racks deteriorated from prolonged exposure. I kept mine inside for about three hours.

Post the soak time, cautiously retrieve the racks from the bags over a spacious trash can, as they'll be dripping.

Shift them to a sink for a good wipe down. Remarkably, post-soak, even the stubborn grease and grime simply sloughed off with minimal effort. There was hardly any vigorous scrubbing required on my part.

The transformation in my oven was evident. The racks gleamed without strenuous scrubbing, much to my delight.
