As a child, I was always afraid of the food that was available.. I'm sure it stems from a tragic incident when the family whale produced some kind of turbulent mess containing fruit curls and other unidentifiable things. I think she just burned me.
After that, I always cared what the people I know would bring. It often reminds me of the National Lampoon's Christmas holiday scene when Aunt Bethany shows up with a piece of lemon jelly topped with cat food. Ugh! It has gotten better over the years, but there are times when I get a little weak in the knees before eating.
