How to Wash a Hat ~ Baseball Caps & more

Today, I'll be sharing a foolproof trick to clean your hats without losing their shape in my ongoing 'Love to Clean' series.

This simple technique was a gem passed down from my mother. Growing up, I noticed my father's fondness for wearing hats, particularly baseball caps. However, consistent wear meant dealing with the inevitable: a plethora of soiled hats or a single well-loved cap that just couldn't escape the dirt and grime.

One might assume that since hats are made of fabric, the washing machine would be the natural choice for cleaning. However, the rough-and-tumble nature of a washing machine can easily deform the hat's shape.

Luckily, there's a hassle-free and efficient way to wash hats without compromising their shape or resorting to tedious hand-washing.

Here's what you'll need to wash your hats effectively:

A dishwasher
Dishwasher detergent (I prefer this one)
White Vinegar (optional)
Baking Soda or Oxiclean
