Let's dive into one of my top-notch, no-bake treats. This dish is a delightful mix of cherries, my absolute favorite fruit, and creamy cheesecake. It's my idea of a perfect dessert!
Ingredients:
1 pack (14 ounces) golden Oreos, finely crushed
⅓ cup salted butter, melted plus extra for greasing the pan
8 ounces cream cheese, brought to room temperature
¾ cup granulated sugar
16 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 small packets Cheesecake flavored instant pudding mix
3 cups whole milk
2 large cans of cherry pie filling
1 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
Instructions:
Step 1:
Grease a 9x13 baking dish and set aside. Process the cookies in a food processor until they form fine crumbs.
Step 2:
Mix the melted butter with the cookie crumbs until well combined. Transfer this mixture to the baking dish, pressing it down to create a smooth, even layer. Chill this cookie crust in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Step 3:
While the crust is chilling, blend the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and a cup of the whipped topping in a bowl until smooth.
Step 4:
Spread this cream cheese mixture over the chilled cookie crust. Place the dish back in the freezer for another 10 minutes.
Step 5:
In a separate bowl, combine the cheesecake pudding mix, milk, and half a cup of the whipped topping. Whisk this mixture until it starts to thicken. Then, spread this pudding layer over the chilled cream cheese layer and let it chill for about 30 minutes or until set.
Step 6:
After the pudding layer is set, gently pour the cherry pie filling over it, taking care not to disturb the layers. Then, evenly spread the remaining whipped topping over the cherry layer. Sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts on top and chill for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
