*INGREDIENTS
+PUDDING:
° 4 cups white bread, cubed, about 8 slices
° 1/2 cup raisins
° 2 cups of milk
° 1/4 cup butter
° 1/2 cup sugar
° 2 eggs lightly beaten
° 1 tablespoon of vanilla
° 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
+ SAUCE:
° 1/2 cup butter
° 1/2 cup sugar
° 1/2 cup well-packed brown sugar
° 1/2 cup heavy whipped cream
° 1 tablespoon of vanilla
*PREPARATION
STEP 1
PUDDING: Heat oven to 350°F. Combine bread and raisins in a large bowl. Combine milk and 1/4 cup butter in a 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted, about 4 to 7 minutes. Pour milk mix over bread; let stand 10 mn. Stirring in all rest pudding ingredients. Pour into a greased 1 1/2 quart saucepan. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until center is set. SAUCE: Combine all sauce ingredients, except vanilla, in a 1 liter saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens and comes to a full boil, about 5 to 8 minutes. Stir in vanilla. To serve, spoon hot pudding into individual dessert cups; serve with sauce. Store leftovers in the fridge.
