Beef & broccoli


3 tsp cornstarch, divide
1⁄2 cup extra water
2 tablespoons water, divide
1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 pound boneless round steak or 1 pound chuck steak, cut into 3-inch thin strips
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divide
4 cups of broccoli florets
1 small onion cut into slice
1⁄3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
hot cook rice

* Methods 

In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 2 tablespoons of water, and garlic powder until smooth.
Add beef and stir.
In a large skillet or skillet over medium heat, stir-fry beef in 1 tablespoon of oil until meat reaches desired doneness; removal and heating.
Saute the broccoli and onion in the remaining oil for 4-5 minutes.
Returning beef to skillet.
Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, remaining cornstarch, and water until smooth; Adding to skillet.
