Preheat oven to 350
Melt 1 stick of butter and add 1 cup of brown sugar (dark brown if you have it)
Pour it into a 9x13 cake pan
Add pineapple slices
Add reserved cherries.
For the cake. I used pineapple cake mix, 3 lb eggs, 1/3 C oil and 1 cup pineapple juice
Mix well.
Pour over pineapple and cherries
Bake for 25 minutes
Let cool and invert onto waxed paper
