°2 lbs ground beef
°1 medium onion, chopped
°3 garlic cloves, minced
°1 tablespoon olive oil
°2 cans of 15 oz tomato sauce
°1 water can of 15 oz
°1 can 12 oz tomato paste
°1 teaspoon of oregano
°1 teaspoon basil
 °16 oz mozzarella cheese, grated
°16 oz cottage cheese, small curd (or ricotta cheese)
°½ cup grated parmesan
°Salt and pepper
°1 box of 16 oz lasagna noodles

* Instructions :

Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a large saucepan, add olive oil, chopped onions and garlic. Sauté to onions are soft & translucent.
Add the ground beef and cook until completely browned, draining off the fat. Return to skillet.
Adding tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, oregano, basil, salt & pepper.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, reduce heat to low, cover and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Cook pasta according to package directions, rinse and set aside (I usually add a teaspoon of oil to the water so the pasta doesn't stick together).
In a 14 x 11½ x 2¼ baking dish or two smaller baking dishes, place a small amount of meat mixture in the bottom of the dish. Spread around.
Add the lasagna noodles (about 5-6, and they will overlap).
Then, place half of the cottage cheese on the pasta and spread, covering the pasta.
Spoon the meat mixture over the cottage cheese.
Sprinkle with parmesan.
Add next? mozzarella cheese.
Repeat with other layer of pasta, cottage cheese, meat mix, parmesan cheese, mozzarella.
The final layer is pasta, topped with the rest of the meat mixture and the rest of the mozzarella cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil and cook for about 1 hour.
Serve with a salad and garlic bread.

Enjoy !
