Smothered Pork Chops

These Whipped Pork Chops are lightly baked, fried and tossed in a hearty, delicious skillet that's easy to prepare. This is the ultimate in Southern comfort and one of our favorite meals.

My family loves these pieces no matter what I serve with them. But for the final meal, serve with creamy mashed potatoes, Southern green beans, and homemade crackers.

** Why this recipe works:

+ This is the perfect Southern comfort meal that everyone loves and served with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles with fresh corn, green beans, or even peas with pearl onions.

+ Even novice cooks can handle this easy recipe.

+ Pork is still one of the least expensive cuts of meat and is often sold. Can you say bonus?

* Ingredients :

° 2 large eggs
° 2 tablespoons minced onion
° 1 tablespoon beef base
° Half a teaspoon of black pepper
° 3 slices of white bread
° 2 pounds lean ground beef
° 1 (10.75 oz) can Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
° 1 (10.75 oz) can of water
° 1 dash of Worcestershire sauce

* Instructions :

Step 1: Whisk eggs, onion, beef, and pepper in a bowl. Cut the bread into large pieces and put it in the bowl. Let the bread soak for a few seconds and add the minced meat. Mix the meat with the egg baking mixture and shape them into 8 pieces.

Step 2: Heat a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat, and fry the pancakes until browned and no longer pink in the center, about 8 minutes per side. Set the pancakes aside.

Step 3: Remove excess fat from skillet, and whisk mushroom soup, water, and Worcestershire sauce together in skillet until smooth. Put the pancakes back into the skillet, put the sauce on top to cover, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low, and cook until sauce has thickened and flavors have blended, about 20 minutes.

Enjoy !
