These Best Ever Homemade Flour Tortillas are so simple and unbelievably delicious!

 

This easy, homemade tortilla recipe is the best flour tortilla I have ever had and much better than store-bought tortilla. You only need 3 ingredients to make this versatile recipe.

 

This homemade flour tortilla is great for making your favorite Mexican recipes. My family's favorite recipe for me with this homemade cheese tortilla with red sauce!

 

The first time I made homemade flour tortillas was in my 9th grade home economics class. Loved them then, but making homemade tortillas was nothing when I was little. Lucky for me, I gave my mom the recipe and got it from her so I could make it.

 

It's also good to roll a tortilla using a rolling pin. It might not be completely round, but it will still be delicious.

 

* Ingredients :

 

° 2 cups all-purpose flour

° 5 tablespoons of margarine

° Half a teaspoon of salt

° Half a cup of warm tap water

 

* Instructions :

 

Combine flour and ghee in a large mixing bowl. Mix the ghee with a dough mixer or with your fingers until it is completely incorporated.

Dissolve the salt in the water and pour about half a cup of it over the dry ingredients. Work it up right away with a fork. The dough will be in large blocks. If all the dry ingredients are not moistened, add the rest of the liquid.

Heat a large skillet or non-greased tray over a medium-to-medium-high heat, then on a lightly floured surface, roll out a section of dough into a 7-inch circle. Roll out a ball of dough and brush it with flour, then roll it back and forth, rotate a sixth of a turn and roll it back and forth again. Keep to it is a 7 inch Circle . Tortilla flour as needed during rolling.

Place the tortilla on a hot baking tray. After 30-45 seconds, when brown spots appear underneath, flip it over. Cook another 30-45 seconds, until the other side is brown. Do not overcook, or the tortilla will be crunchy.

Remove and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. Repeat the procedure with the remaining tortillas and stack them on top of each other.
