Southern Fried Chicken Batter

 


This classic recipe is made with Southern fried chicken in the easiest way possible. Crunchy and juicy, it's definitely a family favorite. There is also no need for a long marinade in the curd, so you do not have to plan in advance.

The two-part mixture consists simply of scraping the chicken in the milk and egg mixture, then quickly shaking it in the spiced flour. This dish calls for chunks of bone - however, other recipes use boneless chicken breasts or boneless chicken thighs with equally delicious results.

Serve the chicken with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, corn, or any vegetable side dish.

* Ingredients :

° 500ml (2 cups) buttermilk
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) salt
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) onion powder
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) garlic powder
° 5 ml (1 teaspoon) cayenne pepper
° 2.5 ml (½ teaspoon) sweet pepper
° 8 bone-in and skin-on chicken thighs
° 8 thighs with bone and skin
Bread crumbs
° 450g (3 cups) all-purpose, unbleached flour
° 7.5 mL (1 ½ teaspoon) light smoked paprika
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) cayenne pepper
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) garlic powder
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) onion powder
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) mustard powder
° 7.5 ml (1 ½ teaspoon) salt
Spicy mayonnaise
° 250ml (1 cup) mayonnaise
° 15 ml (1 tablespoon) sambal ulik (chili sauce)
° 5 ml (1 teaspoon) honey

* Preparation :

In a large bowl, mix the flour, spices, and salt.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 165 ° C (325 ° F). Place paper towels on baking tray.
